Ice Cream Social!
Today we celebrated the momentous occasion of finishing 10 weeks of work in the Colorado National Monument! The same crew has been working tirelessly in the some times triple digit heat, through the canyons, on the roads, and up and down the switch backs since the beginning of the season. Through rain storms, lightning , and 100+ degree days with no shade the crew worked side by side with Colorado National Monument staff.
So on Thursday, July 6 the Colorado National Monument put on an ice cream social! Jamie Bradley the Facility Service Assistant put on the event, inviting all 45 staff in the park to come out. It was a great turn out and everyone who attended got to enjoy some delicious ice cream. Even the Superintendent, Ken Mabery showed up!

Jamie Said "We couldn't have done all the work we did without you!"
The crew enjoyed the ice cream and celebrating their accomplishments with all the park staff they worked with throughout their time on the Monument.

After all the celebrations were over, the crew had one final task to finish their work. With bellies happy full of ice cream, the crew gladly emptied the bags of weeds they had pulled that day into the dumpster. They even had to do a little dumpster diving to pick up some lost bogs, bergs, flimflams (bags) that had fallen in.

We look forward to our continued work with the Colorado National Monument in the seasons to come, and of course MORE ICE CREAM!
Thank you to all the Colorado National Monument Staff for a wonderful season!
